Kudrin says Russia mustn’t raise main taxes in next six years

SOCHI, Feb 15 (PRIME) -- Russia should not raise main tax rates over the next six years, Alexei Kudrin, former finance minister and chairman of the Center for Strategic Research board, told PRIME on Thursday on the sidelines of the Russian Investment Forum.

“The Center for Strategic Research proposes not to raise taxes over the next six years – either profit tax, or value-added tax, or others,” he said.

“We believe that in this moment, when economic growth has not become stable, this should not be done. This should be done once the economy starts growing more steadily, in other words it will be possible to return to it later,” he said.
